EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound)

Bronchoscopy is a procedure which enables your doctor to view your airway through a viewing instrument called a bronchoscope. EBUS is a technique that utilizes ultrasound to visualize airway walls, structures adjacent to the airway and the lungs during a bronchoscopy.

Which diseases does it treat?
It is used in the diagnosis of lung cancer, bronchial bleeding, pulmonary fibrosis, lymphoma and tuberculosis.

How is it implemented?
Just as with classic bronchoscopies, EBUS is implemented using a bronchoscope through the nose or mouth.

What are its features?
The EBUS technology provides ultrasound examination of the airway wall, the pathology adjacent to the wall and in the lymph nodes in the thoracic cavity.
