Patients whose vital functions have deteriorated to an extent to pose a life threatening risk are referred to as critically ill patients. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit equipped with advanced technology embraces a multi-disciplinary approach while providing critically ill children with life support on a 24/7 basis.
Children differ from adults in terms of metabolism, physiology and psychology. As childhood diseases and their treatment can vary widely, critically ill children are provided with healthcare in the pediatric intensive care unit.
The pediatric intensive care units are fitted with advanced equipment including ventilators, monitors and dialyzers in order to treat and monitor critically ill children. Laboratory tests and imaging technology can be performed at all hours of the day on children admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit.
Our unit admits all critically ill children and our specialist staff provides all monitoring, treatment and care services.
