Pediatris departments of Acıbadem Hospitals Group are organized to provide examinations, treatments and protective health care services for children and young adolescents aged 0-16 years, at all our polyclinics, centers and hospitals.
One of the main objectives of our Pediatrics departments is to help raise awareness on the importance breastfeeding for the growth and development of infants. Furthermore, all newborns at our departments are screened for phenylketonuria and hypothyroidism, with a few drops of blood taken from their heel.
Physical, social and psychological development of infants is evaluated at our hospitals, and they are vaccinated as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
Our units also implement programs to inform parents about chronic childhood diseases.

Our Pediatric Endocrinology departments specialize in diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of growth and adolescence problems, thyroid diseases, ambiguous genitalia, metabolic bone diseases, obesity, adrenal gland diseases, hirsutism and diseases associated with menstrual irregularities. In particular, personalized treatment methods are planned and implemented for patients with diabetes and growth hormone deficiency.
Our objective is to provide the most efficient and modern diagnosis and treatment services for children with complaints or diseases of the digestive tract. Gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases of children are handled by this unit. The entire gastrointestinal system is examined by endoscopy, appropriately for this age group.
Physicians of our Pediatric Hematology unit provide diagnosis and treatment for all blood and blood product transmitted diseases. Primary fields of medical specialization of physicians of the unit include; all types of anemina, iron deficiency anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, congenital bleeding disorders, Mediterranean anemia, crescent-cell anemia and other hemoglobin abnormalities, bone marrow deficiencies and, aplastic anemia, Fanconi aplastic anemia, Diamand-Blackfan anemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, neutropenia, childhood leukemias, bleeding diathesis and thrombocytosis clotting disorders.
The objective of our Pediatric Caridology unit is to provide the most efficient and the most appropriate health care for children and unborns with congenital or acquired cardiac diseases World class diagnosis and treatment services are provided utilizing diagnostic and examination tools that are suitable for this age group.
Pediatric nephrologists of our department are specialized in kidney and urinary tract diseases of children. Diseases which are handled by the unit include; childhood kidney and urinary tract diseases, hypertension and rheumatic disorders, familial Mediterranean fever, systemic lupus erythematosus and articular rheumatism.
Pediatric Neurology department of Acıbadem Hospitals Group provides diagnosis and treatment services for neurological problems encountered during childhood, such as eclampsia, developmental delays encountered starting from the newborn period, brain paralysis (cerebral palsy), muscular diseases, and pervasive developmental disorders such as autism.
Our Pediatric Rheumatology department provides advanced diagnosis and treatment services for children (aged 0-16) with rheumatic diseases and related conditions. Diseases for which treatment services are provided by this unit include; familial Mediterranean fever, pain syndromes, Behçet's syndrome, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (juvenile idiopathic arthritis), recurrent fever associated with genetic disorders, Henoch–Schönlein purpura, Lyme arthritis, arthritis developing after rheumatic fever and streptococcus infection, and sporadic childhood primary vasculitis.
Pediatric Psychiatry department of Acıbadem Hospitals Group believes that achieving a healthy social structure in our country, half of the population of which consists of children and young adults, necessitates raising emotionally healthy individuals. In addition to addressing biological, behavioral and social aspects of diseases, our Pediatric Psychiatry department is also engaged in training and preventive health care practices in this field.
Pediatric psychiatry provides services in the fields of individual psychotherapy, group therapy, play therapy, group therapy with psychodrama, family therapy; as well as disorders such as attention deficit and hyperactivity.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Care services for newborns with critical and severe medical conditions are provided by neonatology and pediatric specialists and nurses of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialists of all subspecialties, particularly pediatric cardiology and neurology, as well as pediatric surgery specialists are also involved in treatment of newborns. Our units are equipped with bed-side monitors and capabilities to perform digital x-ray, ultrasonography, ecocardiography, hearing screening and EEG procedures; and are supported by all pediatric subspecialties.
